Community Hall Available for Hire

Located in the idyllic seaside village of Kuaotunu on the Coromandel Peninsula, the Kuaotunu Hall offers a special intimate feel for all sorts of events and functions

Generations of people have marked milestones in their lives, and in the Kuaotunu community, at the historic Kuaotunu community hall.

Weddings, birthday parties and memorial services have been held in the hall since 1940, along with community meetings, dances and all sorts of classes and social group meetings.

Today the hall is still widely used by the local community and is also available for general hire.

Want to know what's on at the hall, or whether the hall is available for an event you are planning?

A Cherished Historic Building...

The building that comprises the main part of the Hall was built circa 1896/1897 as an addition to the Kuaotunu School (which no longer exists).

This building was moved to its present site in 1940, and over the years has been extended and restored into the beautiful character building it is today.

... In a Spectacular Setting

Not only is the hall itself beautiful, but the setting is unbelievably special.

Walk across the road to the river and the beach, or stroll around the corner to the iconic Luke's Kitchen pizza restaurant and Kua Kawhe cafe.

How You Can Help

From time to time the Hall Committee needs help from the local community to get things done - for example working bees, spring cleans, or just an extra pair of hands to tackle an immediate problem.

On these infrequent occasions the Committee reaches out to those people who have volunteered to be Friends of the Hall.

Please sign up here if you would be happy to become a Friend of the Hall - there is no obligation to be available.

Alternatively the Hall Committee is always grateful to receive donations towards the ongoing improvement and maintenance of this precious historic building.
